  • Card Processing

IPpay is dedicated to providing excellence in merchant services such as credit card processing. Our employees understand the process and how it works and have provided systems to ensure that the process works smoothly and reliably.

Want to know how card processing works?

Processing a payment card transaction involves two stages:

1.) Authorization, where an electronic request is sent through various parties to either approve or decline the transaction; and Clearing and Settlement, where all parties settle their accounts and get paid.

    • Cardholder presents payment card as payment at Merchant Point-of-Sale
    • Merchant enters card into a physical Point-of-Sale Terminal or submits a credit card transaction to a Payment Gateway on behalf of a customer via secure connection from a Web site, retail location, MOTO (Mail Order/Telephone Order) center or a wireless device.
    • Payment Gateway receives the secure transaction information and passes it via a secure connection to the Merchant Acquirer’s Front-End Processor
    • The Merchant Acquirer’s Front-End Processor submits the transaction to the Association Network (a network of financial entities that communicate to manage the processing, clearing and settlement of credit card transactions).
    • The Association Network routes the transaction to the customer’s Credit Card Issuer.
    • The Credit Card Issuer approves or declines the transaction and passes the transaction results back through the Association Network.
    • The Association Network relays the transaction results to the Merchant Acquirer’s Front-End Processor.
    • The Merchant Acquirer’s Front-End Processor relays the transaction results back to the Payment Gateway / Point-of-Sale Terminal.
    • The Payment Gateway stores the transaction results and sends them to Merchant.
    • Merchant receives the authorization response and completes the transaction accordingly.

    2.) Merchant Settlement and Funding:

    • Merchant deposits the transaction receipt with the Acquirer via settlement batch.
    • Captured authorizations are passed from the Front-End Network to the Back-End Network for Settlement..
    • The Back-End Network generates ACH files for merchant settlement and sends them to the Acquiring Bank who funds the Merchant Account.
    • The Acquiring Bank submits settlement files to the Issuing Banks for reimbursement via the Interchange Network.
    • Issuer posts the transaction to the Cardholder account and sends the Cardholder a monthly statement.
    • Cardholder receives statement and pays Issuer.

  • Card-Not-Present

IPpay is an important source solution for accepting Card-not-Present (CNP) payment transactions. Card not Present (CNP) refers to a purchase a consumer makes without physically presenting his or her credit or debit card at the time of purchase. Why would consumers do that and why would your company accept CNP transactions?

The benefits to the consumer of using Card-not-Present payment options means they can shop from anywhere using a variety of devices of their choice. Online shopping is extremely popular and convenient as the consumer can shop online without the need to be physically present during the transaction. No need to drive to the site to select merchandise, physically stand in line and fight traffic going home.

If your business offers CNP transactions, your company can grow with or without a bricks and mortar store. Further, if your business offers such transactions for recurring payments of any type such as internet services and other types of automatic bill paying, CNP services are convenient and desirable for your customers and you too.

Fraudulent transactions do occur and businesses must adopt online fraud solutions. With IPpay it is not necessary for a merchant to build its own back end code fraud protection system. Consumers and banks are protected without expending money, time and other resources, and without developing customized fraud management expertise.

Trust IPpay – IPpay was founded to solve Card-not-Present issues for recurring payment processing.

  • Recurring Revenue

IPpay’s Recurring Payments Feature is the solution for bills or fees that occur on a regular basis. For example, monthly or quarterly subscription or membership fees, or internet charges that can be processed systematically on a set schedule. IPpay offers flexible, reliable services that can be tailored to meet specific recurring payments needs.

The Recurring Payments feature ensures that transactions are processed for payments that occur on a regular schedule. The Account Updater feature ensures that payment disruptions caused by card account changes are resolved, and the Transaction Recycling feature resubmits transactions to gain approval for items that are declined at the normal billing period

Full recurring qualification transactions need to be populated with the proper recurring information when an authorization is performed. Cards that have expired get new expiration dates and are authorized without customer intervention. Updated customer card numbers are retrieved from the issuer without the customer intervention and billing information is stored in a secured facility.

With IPpay – Never Miss a Payment!
